 Regional Brownfields Pilot ProgramThe City of Elizabeth selected Van Note-Harvey Associates to conduct a Remedial Alternative Analysis of a former industrial property as part of a USEPA Pilot Program for residential redevelopment. The Remedial Alternative Analysis included investigation of areas requiring remediation, identification and evaluation of remedial options, an evaluation of the cost effectiveness of remedial options and discussions and meetings with a builder to review site and development goals. Areas of concern included historic fill with cyanide, cadmium, lead, polynuclear hydrocarbons; aboveground and underground storage tanks; cyanide in the groundwater on the site; PCB’s associated with electrical transformers on the site. |
